| PLANT OF PARATY BAY |
| Nautical chart simplified for the Paraty port approximation. On this it is marked in dotted traces the best route as follow and the local of anchoring. In the map appears the name of four islands, being interesting to note that this is one of the rare documents with complete name of Araújo Island. The island in front of Jabaquara beach, known today as Pombas Island, is noted as Bombas Island. The village is represented by rectangles among the rivers Mateus Nunes (or Patitiba) and Perequê-Açu. Next the Bexiga island, there are the letters A and B, without definition of its meaning. |

| Covering from Rio de Janeiro to Ubatuba is one of the oldest maps having information of Ilha Grande Bay. Despite of the name Paraty does not appear, its bay is highlighted at the ground of big bay. The Perequê-Açu river which crosses the current city, appears with the name of Gua gendu (in tupi language "guay means small bay, it was not possible to find out the meaning of "gendu"). The region of Laranjeiras, where there is a group of residences, is mentioned in the map. The people from Angra dos Reis were known in this time as Village of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, and it is represented in the drawing. |

| CHOROGRAPHIC CHART OF RIO DE JANEIRO |
| |
| Map covering the whole province of Rio de Janeiro, with good definition of rivers and islands. It indicates the several existing pathways and the localization of guards and registers. In the region of Paraty, it is interesting to note the register of "Boqueirão do Inferno no Caminho do Ouro" (whose pursuit meets the pathway which connects São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro), and the Corralinho Guard (written as Catilinho) in the pathway which connects Paraty and Ubatuba. |

| Nautical chart with Rosa dos Ventos highlighted, covering from Marambaia to Ubatuba. There are several anchorage marked at Ilha Grande (represented as an anchor), but none at Paraty. The coast cutting and island arrangement do not reflect exactly the reality. In the main local is informed the sea depth. The mountain represented by a sequence of mountains seem to separate the known from unknown , once after it, there isn't any information. The map indicates three bars to enter in the Ilha Grande bay, Bocaina do Cairuçu, Bocaina do Marambaia and Bocaina ??? (in tupi language means entrance or pathway). The Paraty villages, Ubatuba and Angra dos Reis are represented by a church. |
